How Does it Work?

A Wedding List is like a personal wish list which your guests can use as a guide to judge what sort of thing you might like as a wedding gift. Traditionally such gifts are related to the home, but these days, anything goes.

There are 4 stages to the Glanvilles Wedding List Service;

1 If you wish, an advisor will walk around the shop with you to help with the selection of items. In addition to the wide choice of goods available in store, we have a selection of catalogues from various suppliers which you are welcome to view.

2 After the initial consultation, the list will be typed up and sent to you for your approval, and we will enter the details in to your online version. We offer an online wedding list to enable guests who do not live nearby, or are unfamiliar with the shop to view and choose items at their leisure.

3 You send out the List to your guests, usually with the invitations, and make sure everyone knows it is also available online. Guests then come to the store, or order by e-mail, or telephone, and we amend the list after each purchase. Most guests take their gifts at the time of purchase, or arrange to collect them nearer to the big day, but some prefer to leave them at the shop for collection after the wedding.

4 After the wedding, you will be sent a list of all the gifts purchased, with the name and contact details of who purchased what. As a token of our appreciation for choosing Glanvilles Wedding List Service you will receive a gift-voucher to the value of 10% of the total goods purchased by your guests (including gift-vouchers).

Our online system means that no matter where in the world you are, your guests can find out what you need, and whether or not someone else has the same idea.
